About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Kent, WA. 

This position is an integral member of PPI’s growth by providing hands-on engineering support and project direction to the operations team through a variety of engineering projects with overall ownership of the final design, development, verification, and validation of all PPI engineering projects. 

Your more typical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Collaborate in Integrated Production Team cross-functional environment to design a production system and product that maximizes the value 
  • Plan and formulate aspects of research and development proposals such as the objective or purpose of the project, applications that can be used from findings, costs of the project, and equipment and human resource requirements
  • Execute key projects, processes, performance reports, data, and analysis; document results accordingly
  • Train peers, and shop floor as needed
  • Select correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement of existing ones
  • Develop and submit proposals to ensure benefits justify planned expenditures; present proposals to all levels of the organization
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences to inform management of status for each project
  • Work with the Production Supervisor, Production Manager, and Quality Manager, review and monitor quality and process improvements and new product development

More About You

To qualify, you must have 2+ years of related experience in engineering, manufacturing, or MRO shop floor operations, preferably in aerospace, or aircraft maintenance. 

The following skills and experiences would be strong assets to this position:  

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from ABET accredited university in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and competency in interpreting blueprints
  • Working knowledge of FAA FARS as they apply to Repair Stations and PMA
  • Understanding of machining techniques and principles 
  • Working knowledge of various plating, shot peen, bonding, and metallurgy processes and industry practices 
  • Experience with tooling design, equipment troubleshooting, and general repair practices
  • Experience writing detailed work instructions 
  • Mastercam or similar CAM software experience
